Child Care Assistant / Norwood French Immersion Preschool

Start Date: September 7, 2021 - June 30, 2022
$15 an hour - Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 08:30-12:00

Norwood French Immersion Preschool (NFIP), is expanding its program and is looking for energetic, passionate and organized Child Care Assistants who regard their profession as rewarding, knowing they are impacting the lives of young children. As a member of the NFIP team you will be expected to have a clear understanding of child development and appreciate the importance of helping children increase and enhance their social, motor and intellectual development in a fun, French speaking environment through crafts, games, stories, outings and social interaction.

The ideal candidate:

• Possess a genuine passion and dedication for engaging young children and helping develop and support their educational growth while encouraging social interaction.

• Warm, caring and responsive

• Able to easily assist in supervising children between the ages of 2 and 5 years

• Take pride in building strong relationships with the children in your care and their families

• Consistent with children

• Work well in a team environment

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Hiring will be subject to the following:

• Child Care Assistant Certification or equivalent experience

• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate

• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector completed (Dated within 3 months of employment)

• Child Abuse Registry Check (Dated within 3 months of employment)

• Fluent in French and English
