Teacher's Corner

Madame Jenny

Hi, I am Jennifer Wilson, Madame Jenny, and I am honoured to be the teacher at Norwood French Immersion Preschool (NFIP).  I am bilingual in French and English, and have had my Early Childhood Education Diploma for 23 years! This is my 5th year with NFIP.

I believe learning should be fun, especially at this age. I teach kindness, encourage positive social interactions, and create a nurturing classroom of respectful and caring children.

Our program is balanced and includes hands-on science learning and experiences, arts and crafts, cooperative games, literacy skills, numeracy skills, and social studies. We will also have daily shared learning and reading experiences through stories, songs, rhymes, movement and games. We will always be curious and excited in our findings!

We will have a gentle introduction to French: basic words and directions, songs and games, colours, numbers, shapes, and the alphabet.

We will be curious, kind, and respectful. We will learn to share, take turns, and be together as a community. We will focus on our feelings, learn empathy, and do this mostly through play, because we know that children, in the Early years, learn best through play.

I will work alongside your children to help them grow into the best they can be. I promise to do my best everyday, and to be your child's friend in learning and exploring this bright new world.

In my spare time I am outside with my husband and young son as much as possible, camping, gardening, and playing sports.

Can't wait to meet you,

Madame Jenny
