FAQ

FAQs about the Norwood French Immersion Preschool (NFIP)

  • Where is NFIP located?

Contrary to our name, we are no longer in the Norwood community! We are now located in a lovely classroom on the third floor of Ecole Provencher, in St. Boniface.

  • How do I register?

It’s very easy: fill out our registration forms, include the registration fee in your envelope, and mail it to us to enroll your child. We are accepting 3 and 4 year olds who are fully potty trained.

  • Does my child need to speak French?

Non! This is a program designed to introduce French and French Immersion to your child in a very fun and gentle way. All parent communication is conducted in English.

  • How much does this program cost?

We are a not-for-profit, licensed childcare facility offering a part-time preschool/nursery program, and we are not part of the public school system. The tuition fees we charge, along with a provincial operating grant and fundraising, cover our basic operating expenses.

Our fees for the upcoming year are listed on the site and on the registration package.

The fees you pay are tax deductible and a government subsidy is also available.

  • What is your teacher to child ratio?

We follow the provincially mandated teacher:child ratio for nursery schools which 1:10.
